WP Press is excited to be part of the FREE Block Party in the Crossroads on September’s First Friday!
The first annual C4 Fest stands for Communicate, Collaborate, Commemorate, Celebrate for the Kansas City Community. We want to celebrate Kansas City by bringing people together in a creative and positive space, bringing awareness to the arts and to those doing good.
Two streets will be blocked off for this event: Locust St from 18th to 19th St and 19th Street from Oak to Locust. Parking at Children’s Mercy Hospital Parking Lot will still be available as usual for First Friday, just follow the detour signs.
Around 6PM – 4 murals will be unveiled on the corner of 19th and Locust: Eeks Art, Deuce Sharbonda, David Gant, and Muralist Alexander Austin.
5PM to 11PM – Artists, non-profits, organizations, and businesses that support the local community will have booths throughout Locust Street between 18th and 19th St.
5:15PM to 12AM – Bands playing inside the Crossroads KC music venue: St. Andrews Drum and Pipe, Ruddy Swain, La Guerre, The Pedaljets, The Calamity Cubes!, AY-MusiK. Poets/writers from Kansas City Voices/Whispering Prairie Press reading between set changes: Jason Preu, Timothy Christopher Ryan Volpert, Melissa Sewell, & Amy Kierzek Ash.
6PM – GRANTS to our supported charities will be made promptly at 6PM inside the Crossroads KC music venue.
5PM to 11PM – A commemoration wall for all to write/draw tributes to loved ones that have passed away.
All day – Free Wi-Fi provided by Connecting for Good and Bandwagon Merchandise.
The Filling Station and Soho Bakery will be selling coffee and treats. Special thanks to Boulevard Brewing Company for providing Zon, Pale Ale, and Unfiltered Wheat, which will be available inside the music venue.
